About

PatriciaSpork Patricia Spork (a.k.a. Sporkette) is a freelance writer and digital photo artist residing in northeast Texas. Some of her works (poems, articles, short stories, one-act plays, photographs, digital photo art, books and e-books) have been published either locally, regionally, nationally or Internationally, online or in print, and some works have won awards. She has been a secretary and newsletter publisher for a songwriter’s organization, a newsletter publisher for a church, a columnist for an online writer’s site, and a book reviewer for two online book review sites. Patricia’s also been a waitress, nurse’s aid, caregiver, house cleaner, inventory control specialist, work order processor, quality assurance inspector, emergency medical technician (intermediate) and a drummer in a band. She still plays drums (and guitar and mandolin), for personal pleasure.

Nowadays, Patricia mainly desktop publishes various projects for others and herself. At one time, she enjoyed interviewing authors, musicians and other artistic individuals, always granting the artists permission to use the interviews for marketing and promotional purposes. Sorry, but she no longer does interviews or book reviews.

Patricia’s current interests are beading jewelry, creating ACEO [Artist Cards, Editions and Originals] from her digital photo art, illustrations and paintings, and self-publishing more of her e-books. Some of her e-books are totally original, while others are derived from one or more public domain works that she embellishes with her artistic touch, adding new life to old.

Patricia collects comic books, vinyl records and postage stamps. Occasionally, she vendors some items at local flea markets and offers a few products online at Sorrel Sunflower. Patricia also seems to collect animals…not as a hobby, but just because she can’t let strays be strays or say “no” when someone else asks her to take an animal. Right now, she has one burro, four horses and seven dogs.

Patricia lost her precious son to depression and suicide [Read Son For All Seasons - free download]. Her savvy daughter is a Registered Nurse. Her three grandchildren are wacky, lovable, teens. Her supportive husband is trying to survive her menopause stage. So is she. Because of her physical condition, Patricia is more home-bound than not…of which, she’s growing more accustomed to…begrudgingly.

Artistic endeavors keep Patricia positive in life. She’s naturally natural, with a rebellious nature and Type “A” attitude. But all that aside, she’s a pretty good ‘ol gal – take her word for it. (Yah, right!)
